Best forDIY-minded owners with a good electrician who want a modular whole-home LFP system and a lower entry cost than the big three.

Bluetti's whole-home system is a 9 kW hybrid inverter that takes two to four B500 packs of 4.96 kWh each, so the entry configuration is about 9.9 kWh and the ceiling is 19.8 kWh per inverter. The thing to read carefully is that 9 kW applies on-grid; the datasheet says maximum off-grid output is 7.6 kW, which is the number that matters in an outage. It is split-phase, IP65-rated for outdoor mounting, and switches in under 10 ms. The inverter weighs 105.8 lb and each B500 weighs about 128 lb, so a two-pack stack is a lot to get onto a wall or pad. Compared with Tesla and Enphase the brand has a thin installer network, so many buyers end up with an electrician unfamiliar with the gear; the 10-year warranty is on par with Duracell. The price is an authorized dealer's list for the two-battery package with the Home Integration Kit; the B500 alone lists at $3,999 on Bluetti's site.
