Best forCost-conscious owners with a good installer who want a large inverter and lots of capacity growth without Powerwall pricing.

A Utah company's answer to Powerwall pricing: a 12 kW split-phase inverter that takes up to 18 kW of solar and a floor-standing 14.3 kWh LFP battery, sold as a package with wiring and distribution boxes. The spec sheet shows one inverter running up to six batteries, 85.8 kWh in all, and two inverters for 24 kW, so it grows past what most households need. Sanctuary has far less track record than Tesla or Enphase, and owners lean on the Texas-based support line. The warranty requires the system to stay online so Lion can monitor it, which some buyers dislike. Lion publishes no surge rating. The battery alone weighs 290 lb. Lion sells by quote through certified installers; $10,298 is a distributor's price for one inverter and one battery, and the battery alone runs about $4,329.
